The longevity of this re-release sort of depends on the people playing, and if it has a fantastic number of those, you will probably get your moneys worth.

I feel like there were fewer people on xbox online than on other networks, but I only bothered to try for 40 minutes.
The 4 versions that are online are good, but this rock scissors paper game selection is pretty darn stupid, you will end up playing a version of the game you didnt want, inside the lobby of "SF2Hyperfighting" and the game randomly decides between you and the other player's selection. This might make lobbies a little less emptier though, and lobbies arent very big; maybe about 4 players max once you find one.

I wasnt a fan of the console ports. I guess if they wanted to crack down on the mob community following old arcade games, then well done, but the selection of lobbies hurts the game a bit. Ive never seen the same lobby selection for street fighter, that you would for a game like starcraft, diablo or even the emulation community's online service kaillera.

What drew me to this purchase was that a lot of the online arcade communities like kaillera are dead, and having never tried street fighter on xbox live, I wanted to give it a shot. I'm a little tired of dumbed down versions of services that were done by developers in their spare time, but this is what it ends up being; a dumbed down version of kaillera.

SF30 is probably a lot better than people would lead you believe; its 12 ports of street fighter on one disc with a bunch of bonuses I don't really care for or have already seen; The remains of the mail-order capcom fighter's edge nonsense from the 90s have probably been shoveled into this product too. It's not a bad purchase if all you want is to throw down your 20 year old SF skills on another player, but if you arent into street fighter then i wouldnt recommend it?
